The Unicorn Theatre (I use the term theatre very lightly) holds 122 people for a sold out show. There are only six rows of seating. I was shocked when I walked into such a small room, the front row was intimidating! I was close enough to reach out and touch the stage, and there were only five rows behind me! It isn't like those big theatre's where the lights on stage blind out the faces in the audience. It remained surprisingly well lit and there was a lot of eye contact and minor interactions with the audience. (It is hard to explain how they managed interaction all the while pretending we weren't there, but they did it, lol) There was no need for audio/sound devises or speakers, they just spoke in voice. It was an incredibly intimate setting, and an amazing experience. I, of course, got over my fears rather quickly as I became so immersed into the show.
I thoroughly enjoyed the play itself, but I am tired and it is definitely a thinky piece so I will keep that for another day. Instead let me be shallow because we all know the real reason I wanted to be there so badly. OMG Randy was a dream come true. Not only was he the definition of talent, but he was wearing the tightest black jeans ever, and you should have seen his dance! The thrusting and I swear if his pants were just a little loser (not that I wanted them to be) he would have done a complete split, not once but twice. He blew me away during his monologue, it was nothing short of amazing, he was nothing short of amazing! Even if he may have sprayed spit all over me a couple of times, lol. As I said, it was a very small theater! He was all Lucky through and through (but he still has that baby faced look to him). After the performance was over, when they came back out on stage a second time, this time to a standing ovation, I did finally get to see that smile that would earn anybody the nickname "sunshine", it was a fine way to end the evening.
Nobody stuck around after the show to wait for the actors to come out and sign things, so in an attempt to not be some creepy fan we decided it best to just make our way home. Mike did buy this for me during the intermission though, because he is sweet like that (and, I should add, he had a wonderful time as well).

Thank you again Amy, this was such an amazing experience. I started watching Queer as Folk no more than two weeks ago, I fell in love with the show, the characters, and the actors, and before I knew it I was watching one of my favorites up on a stage right in front of me. Words can't describe the feeling. This is Randy's fourth summer in the Berkshires, hopefully he continues the tradition, so I can start a new one for myself. And hopefully next year you will be there with me too *hugs* I love you babe.
